I taught full-time in the History Department at Northwest for six years before assuming the position of Provost in May 2005. The teaching and mentoring I do now is built on these foundational experiences. Family We seem to gravitate toward the helping professions. Cherie, my wife, is a Registered Nurse working in neonatal special care. Our son, Judson, is a physician training for a specialty in pediatrics. Like me, our daughter Callie is drawn toward teaching. She graduated from NU with an education degree and then taught ESL in Japan for a year. Hobbies Backpacking, Cycling, Golf, and Scuba Diving. Speakears BureauDr. Heugel is a member of Northwest University's Speakers Bureau and is available to address your church group or organization. Available Topic: Breaking the DaVinci Code
These claims have been read by thousands of Americans in The Da Vinci Code (over 93 weeks on the NYT best-sellers list). This seminar will explain the historical distortions behind these ideas and help you understand how to talk about them with your friends. The full presentation takes one and a half hours, although a two-hour setting would be better. Professor Heugel has also done an abbreviated version in 45 minutes, which is more evangelistic, focused on the Da Vinci material and debunking the methodology. He has done the abbreviated version in evangelistic settings at South Puget Sound Community College and at The Evergreen State College.
