Background | Center for Pentecostal Research BackgroundDan Neary serves as Executive Vice President at Northwest University. After joining the institution's administration in November 1998 as Vice President for College Advancement, he was later promoted to Senior Vice President for College Advancement and then Executive Vice President in 2004. Northwest is located in Kirkland, Wash., on the eastside of Seattle. The 56-acre campus serves nearly 1,200 students pursuing undergraduate degrees in over 50 academic programs and graduate degrees in Counseling Psychology and Business. Founded in 1934, the institution was known as Northwest College for many years, until transitioning to University name and status effective Jan. 1, 2005. As Executive Vice President, Neary serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for Northwest University, providing the President with leadership The Executive Vice President leads the collaborative work of the Office of the President, guiding the effort to integrate the various parts of the work Since Neary's arrival at Northwest, the University has added more than a dozen undergraduate programs, including The Mark and Huldah Buntain School of Nursing, as well as two graduate programs, the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and the Master of Business Administration. He has led growth that includes the addition of 13 new buildings, including the acquisition of a 35,000 square foot office building that serves as the Center for Graduate and Professional Studies, and growth in enrollment of nearly 40% over the past five years. Before accepting the invitation to Northwest, Neary served as Director for Public Relations and Marketing at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. His service at Gordon-Conwell was preceded by a number of administrative posts at North Central University. Neary earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, Minn.) and Bachelor of Science at North Central University (Minneapolis, Minn.). He is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and serves as pastor of The Chapel at Cedar Park. Neary has served as a consultant to other institutions of Christian Higher Education, as well as churches, denominational leadership structures, and para-church organizations.
