Hi! My name is Shoshana Weed and I am the Campus Visit Counselor here at Northwest University. I received my BA from NU in 2008 and loved it so much that I have been working here ever since. If you are interested in learning more about NU, please feel free to contact me. I would be happy to schedule a visit for you and answer any questions you may have.

  • Favorite thing about NU: I really appreciate NU’s emphasis on training students to serve in a global context. As a student, I had the opportunity to travel to Morocco, England, and India. The perspective I gained from each of these experiences is absolutely invaluable. In addition to the global focus, I am thankful that staff and faculty are so intentional about facilitating a rich community full of opportunities for academic as well as spiritual and social development.
  • Favorite foods: I am a big fan of Indian food. My most recent hobby is trying to teach myself how to cook with all of the colorful spices of their cuisine.
  • Favorite TV/Movies: Definitely the Office and Glee. My list of favorite movies changes frequently, but for now it is Where the Wild Things Are, The Secret Life of Bees, Step Up, My Sister’s Keeper, and anything else that is deep, psychological, sappy, or all of the above.
  • Favorite Bible verse: Micah 6:8 – “He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
  • Favorite quote:  “You may never know the results that come from your actions, but if you do nothing there will be no result.” – Ghandi
  • Favorite books: The Weight of Glory by C.S. Lewis, Free the Slaves by David Batstone, and Boundaries by Cloud and Townsend.
  • Hobbies: I absolutely love to sing and play the piano. I spent a lot of my time at NU rehearsing with choirs and taking piano lessons. I also love travelling and learning about different cultures.
  • Something Personal: I am currently working on my Masters in Counseling Psychology and hope to one day provide trauma therapy to marginalized populations in an international setting.
