

KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Northwest Christian Beacons took 90 minutes for a 3-0 sweep (25-23, 25-23, 25-23) over Northwest University tonight in Cascade Conference play. With the win, NCU moves into 5th place in the conference with one match to play while Northwest U. drops to 7th.
The Beacons answered every challenge from Northwest in every set. Each time NU would take a brief lead or tie a set, NCU would answer to re-take the lead.
Tami Brown led Northwest Christian (16-11, 9-8 CCC) with a double-double: 14 kills and 17 digs. Dana McGowan had a match high 25 digs and Cori Wallace registered a team high 20 assists. Chandler Gabrio had 7 kills and hit .636 for the match.
Northwest U. (13-13, 7-10 CCC) was led by Rae Ann Hastings 9 kills and Sarah Stoker’s 8 kills. Stoker hit .471 on the night. Ashton Arbuthnot had a match high 24 assists while teammate Heather Shulke scored a team high 21 digs.
Northwest U. remains at home for their final regular season match tomorrow night and will host Corban while Northwest Christian heads to Olympia for a match with Evergreen. Both matches are slated for 7 p.m.
