Big Weekend for Eagle Sports Teams

KIRKLAND, Wash. - This weekend is a big one for Eagle sports teams. Volleyball plays their final two regular season home games tonight (Friday) and tomorrow night as they host Northwest Christian and Corban in key CCC matches. The Eagles need a couple of wins to earn a playoff spot. Saturday night will be Senior Night for four Eagle seniors: Lauryn Ernster, Breanna Covey, Heather Shulke and Rebecca Heiner.

Women’s soccer hosts the CCC semifinal game on the NU Athletic Field tomorrow (Sat.) at noon. If the Eagles win, they would host the CCC championship game next Saturday, Nov. 10 and a win in that game would earn NU a trip to the NAIA national championships!

Men’s soccer is away at Evergreen on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The time is a change from the original 3:00 p.m. start time. Seeding for the post season playoffs will be determined following the game on Saturday evening or Sunday morning.

It’s conference championship time for Cascade Conference cross country as the Eagles travels to Lents Park in Portland, Ore. on Saturday morning to race for the trophies in the CCC championships. The women’s five-kilometer race is set for 10:30 a.m., followed by the men’s eight-kilometer race at 11:15 a.m. The award ceremony follows the completion of the men’s race.

Men’s basketball is in northern California for a two game tournament at Cal State Maritime. Friday night, the Eagles take on William Jessup of Roseville, Calif. and the Cal Pac Conference at 5:30 p.m. The game will be streamed live on the Cal Maritime Athletics web site. Saturday, the men play host, Cal Maritime at 7:30 p.m. and the game should be streamed live on the web. Look for a battle between the Eagles and Cal Maritime as the Keelhaulers made a trip to the NAIA nationals in Missouri last season.

Go Eagles!
