

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Concordia Cavaliers pulled away in the second half for a 69-49 Cascade Conference win over Northwest U. on Cavaliers Court.
Concordia took an early 14-5 lead in the first seven minutes of the half as they led the entire way tonight. Randi McReynolds jumper at the 12:19 mark would push the Cavalier lead to 18-7. With 9:52 on the clock, NU’s Jordan Asher would get to the basket for a layup to cut the CU lead to four, 18-14, but the Cavs would outscore the Eagles 5-2 to increase their lead to 9, 25-16, with 7:50 showing on the clock. Concordia would maintain the lead the rest of the period and Lexi Amundsen offensive tip in would make it 36-23 as the teams would head for the locker rooms.
CU would slowly pull away in the second half and build their lead to 20 points with 5:04 to go in the game. Emily Graver would hit two free throws with 54 seconds on the clock to seal the victory for Concordia.
Northwest’s (2-19, 1-13 CCC) freshman guard Jordan Asher led the team with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Domi Mendezona and Chanara Greene each scored 9 points for the Eagles who managed 26% shooting for the night.
Concordia (9-14, 3-10 CCC) had three players in double figures: Kelly Huey 16, points, McKenna Daly 11 points, and Malori Dixon 10 points. Daly and Huey each grabbed 9 rebounds for the Cavaliers who dominated the boards with a 56-46 margin. 22 of those rebounds came off the offensive glass. CU shot 39% from the floor and 82% from the free throw line.
Northwest will remain in Portland and will take on Warner Pacific in their final road game of the season. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
