

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Three members of the NU cross country team have earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete recognition as announced by the national office.
For the men, Luke Fischer of Kalispell, Mont, and Ethan Flannery of Springfield, Mo., were named to the men’s scholar athlete team. Fischer, a 2012 graduate of NU, is currently attending graduate school at Northwest U. and Flannery is a junior at NU.
Sigrid Thoreson of Snohomish, Wash., represents the women’s team with her recognition as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar athlete.
In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
