

PORTLAND, Ore. - The NU women’s cross country team finished in fourth place in a strong field of 9 teams in this morning’s CCC Championships in Lents Park in Portland.
Emily Sears was the top NU finisher in the 5k race coming in 20th in a time of 18:53. Meagan Governor was 23rd (18:59), Vanessa Ahrendt 24th (19:06), Lindsey Wagner 25th (19:11), Joanna Sowers 28th (19:21), Sigrid Thoreson 46th (20:07) and Molly Evans 47th (20:10).
The College of Idaho won the team title for the women and Southern Oregon’s men, ranked No. 1 in the NAIA, took the men’s team title.
Matt Porter came in 13th for the men with his time of 25:31 for the 8k course. Jonathan Ferguson ran a 27:33 for 53rd. Other NU runners were: Ben Schmalz (30:58(, Ethan Flannery (31:21) and Cameron Kartak (32:31). The Eagle men took 9th place in the team race.
