

KIRKLAND, Ore. - The NU Eagle men’s basketball team opens their 2012-13 season and defense of their Cascade Conference championship with an exhibition game against the Blue Angels.
The Blue Angels is a team comprised of former outstanding collegiate players from the area including 2012 NAIA All-American, CCC Defensive Player of the Year and former Eagle, Rich Skillman, 2012 NU grad and Tyson Christie, a member and starter for the 2011 Eagle team that made a trip to the NAIA national championships in Missouri. Also, on the team are Morris Anderson, Lukas Henne and Derek Webb, who all played for Western Washington. Both Anderson and Henne were all-conference players at WWU.
Returning for the Eagles is Michael Greene, CCC Honorable Mention in 2011-12, Ryan Dornik, Taylor Cliett, and Nemanja Grujicic. Playing in their first game tonight will be transfers Michael Russo (St. Martin’s), Ryan McIntosh (Dominican), Brett Skogstad (Pierce College), and Nick Crossan (Bellevue College). Aussie Jeremy Paull returns for NU after a redshirt year, guard Cody Shackett and Nikola Djokovic are back for their sophomore seasons.
As an exhibition contest, the game will not count against NU’s season record.
