

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2012 NAIA Women’s Soccer All-America teams on Monday. Northwest University’s senior defender, Stephanie Cummins of Renton, Wash., was named to the 3rd team for the second straight year.
Cummins was a co-captain and starter on the Eagle team which won the 2012 Cascade Conference championship and she earned first team All-CCC honors and was named co-Defensive Player of the Year. The NU defense allowed only 7 goals in their 9 conference games finishing with a 7-1-1 league mark. On offense, Cummins scored four goals, two of which were game winners. She is an Education major and graduating this semester.
Said Coach Erin Redwine about Cummins’ selection, “Stephanie far exceeded my expectations this year and I’m proud that she’s being recognized for it.”
The NAIA All-America committee, which is comprised of the NAIA-Women’s Soccer Coaches Association officers and seven additional women’s soccer coaches, select the three teams consisting of 13 individuals.
