

CALDWELL, Idaho – Felicity Jones had 19 points and nine rebounds, leading The College of Idaho over Northwest University, 77-59, inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center in Cascade Conference play.
The Lady Yotes (8-5, 4-1 CCC) used a 12-0 second half run to break the game open after NU had cut the margin to 44-41. The NU Eagles led 27-21 midway through the second half, but C of I used a 21-5 run to close the period to lead 42-32 at the break.
The Eagles played the Yotes in a tight game in the first half which saw 6 lead changes and 4 ties in the 13 minutes. The lead would swing back and forth as neither team could make a run. With the game tied at 27-all at the 8:37 mark, the College of Idaho would take the lead, 31-27, after a 4-0 run as Felicity Jones would score twice for the Yotes. Jenna Lewis would hit a trey for NU to make it a one point game, 31-30, but the Yotes would make a 7-0 run capped off by a Dayna Drager trey (3:47). Laura Geis would grab a missed Yote shot for the put back giving C of I a 10 point, 42-32 lead at the half.
In the second half, Sanda Milovic would cut the C of I lead to 3 with her driving layup, making it 44-41, but the Yotes would go on a 14-0 run to increase their lead to 17, 58-41 with 11:41 remaining in the game. The Eagles would pull to within 9 twice, but C of I would answer each time to maintain the lead the remainder of the way.
Northwest U. (2-9, 1-3 CCC) and Caldwell native Alyssa Dario had a career-high 19 points in the loss for NU, hitting 5 of 8 from the 3 point line. Sanda Milovic (Kent, Wash.) added 16 points and Domi Mendezona (Issaquah, Wash.) dropped in 7 and added 5 assists.
For the College of Idaho (8-5, 4-1 CCC), in addition to Jones’ 19 points, Dayna Drager had 14 points and five rebounds in the win, with Laura Geis adding 12 points and 10 rebounds. C of I shot 45% for the night.
The Eagles now head to LaGrande, Ore., and will play No. 9 ranked Eastern Oregon on Saturday night at 5:30 p.m.
