Eagle Hall of Fame Nominations

Candidate nominations are submitted with the intent to honor and preserve the memory of those individuals or teams who have brought recognition and respect to Northwest University and its athletic programs through their dedicated contribution and years of service.

Selection Process

1. Nominations are to be submitted by April 26th. Information is to be presented on the standardized nomination form (intent is not to give an advantage based on the merit of the nominator's documents) with supplementary information accepted and considered in the deliberations.
2. A Selection Committee will review, discuss and vote on nominees. A two-thirds favorable vote is required by the Selection Committee to be inducted. Nominees will be notified of committee decisions by December 1.
3. Up to three individual inductees may be selected in any given year, in addition to team and outstanding service nominees. Maximum number of inductees is five.
4. In the event that two or fewer inductees are selected, the Selection Committee shall have the option of deferring these inductees to the following year. Selection shall not be deferred more than one year.
5. New nomination forms must then be resubmitted for candidates nominated and not elected.

Criteria

1. Recognition Categories: Athlete, Team, Coach, and Outstanding Service.
2. Athlete Nominees: The minimum of five criteria must be met.
   1. Participated at least two years in the sport.
   2. Made significant impact and/or special recognition to the sport.
   3. Seven years must have elapsed from the nominee's final season of participation.
   4. All-Conference selection and/or All-America recognition.
   5. Established a school record or records.
   6. Team Most Valuable Player or similar team award.
   7. Be of strong Christian character.
   8. Outstanding post-collegiate performance in their sport.
3. Team Nominees: A minimum of three criteria must be met.
   1. Exceptional accomplishment/s at and above the conference level.
   2. Seven years must have elapsed before a team is eligible.
   3. Made significant impact and/or brought special recognition to Eagle Athletics.
   4. Established a school record or records.
4. Coach Nominees: A minimum of three criteria must be met.
   1. Seven years must have elapsed from the nominee's last season of Eagle coaching.
   2. Made significant impact and/or special recognition to the sport or sports the nominee coached.
   3. Coach of the Year selection.
   4. Established a school record or records.
   5. Be of strong Christian character.
5. Outstanding Service: A minimum of three criteria must be met.
   1. A non-athlete nominee who, in some manner, made significant impact, special recognition, and/or an extraordinary contribution to the success or furthering of Eagle Athletics.
   2. A minimum of seven years of service must have occurred before the nominee is eligible.
   3. Be of strong Christian character.
   4. Demonstrated to the community a heart of service and dedication.
