Four Eagles Head to NAIA Nationals

Four NU Eagle athletes will be heading to the 2010 NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships which will be held in Marion, Indiana, May 27-29. The meet is being hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University and will be the 58th annual men's event and the 29th year for the women.

Making the trip with Head Coach Mark Mandi will be Shayna Prause, Lindsey Wagner, Paige DeLapp, and Julia Johnson. Prause qualified in the javelin event and is also a member of the 4X800 (3200m) relay which also qualified for the national meet.

Prause will compete in the javelin finals which will be held on Thursday, May 27 at 4:00 p.m. CST and then run with the 3200m relay team at 6:00 p.m. the same day. Finals for the 3200m relay will be on Friday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m. CST.

Shayna hit her national qualifying distance her very first time out this season at the Ralph Vernacchia Invitational in Bellingham, throwing the javelin 38.77m (127'-02"), 6th best in the Cascade Conference. The 4X800 relay qualified at the St. Martin's Invitational on May 1 with their time of 9:40.63, which was the 4th best time in the conference.
