GRESHAM, Ore. - The Eagles are off to a good start in today’s CCC track & field championships as Luke Fischer won the javelin event with a record toss of 213-08, over a foot farther than his previous NU record of 212-04 set last year. Fischer has already qualified for the NAIA outdoor nationals in Marion, Indiana which begin May 23.

GRESHAM, Ore. - Matt Porter punched his ticket to the 2013 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships this afternoon at the CCC Championships as he posted an NAIA “B” qualifying time in the 3000 steeplechase of 9:26.35, almost six seconds better than his previous season best time. His time was good enough for 5th place in the finals. All Eagle participants showed improvement as they bettered previous season marks.

LAGRANDE, Ore. - Eight Northwest University track & field athletes earned U.S. Bank Academic All-CCC honors as announced by the league office. A total of 186 CCC athletes, participating in track & field, baseball, softball, and golf were named scholar athletes for the spring.

LAGRANDE, Ore. - NU’s Lauren Robinson, a freshman outfielder from Oro Valley, Ariz., earned honorable mention honors for the 2013 Cascade Collegiate Conference all-conference softball team announced by the league office.

SEATTLE, Wash. - With sunny and warm temperatures in the 70’s on Saturday, the Eagles competed in the new track stadium at the University of Washington in today’s Ken Shannon Invitational as one NU school record fell.

KIRKLAND, Wash. - Northwest University Men’s Soccer Coach Gary McIntosh announced the Eagles’ signing class for the 2013 season. Ten players have signed letters of intent and will begin their collegiate soccer careers at Northwest this August. Eight of the signees will be incoming freshman and two are transfers from Bellevue College. ”This is an important group of players that are coming in this fall,” said McIntosh, “They will add depth to our team in several areas especially up top in the forward position. These young men will make us better because they are all capable of starting and that will push the entire team to compete for starting spots. All of these players are superb athletes and excellent soccer players. Most importantly, they love the Lord and are excited to play for Him.”
