Northwest University women’s softball coach, John Bacon, announced six student-athletes have signed letters of intent to play for the Eagles’ in their inaugural season in the spring of 2013. The Cascade Collegiate Conference will now have eight teams competing in the league. Read more

John Bacon brings more than nine years of fastpitch coaching experience, having coached various levels of select youth softball. He is currently head coach at Kirkland Junior High School and the Patriots U16 travel team. His teams have competed in the ASA Western National Championships, the NSA Western World Series, and the Colorado Fireworks tournament. Bacon is currently on the faculty at Northwest as an Assistant Professor of Business at the school. He earned both his BA and MBA at Northwest University and is currently completing his Doctor of Business Administration through George Fox University in Oregon.
“It is a privilege to be chosen to be the inaugural coach for the softball program at Northwest,” said Coach Bacon. “There are such rich traditions in NU athletics that we will strive to build into the fabric of Eagle softball. Coaching at Northwest also allows for the creation of a total athlete; one that is physically superior, mentally capable, and spiritually strong.”
