Taylor earned 4 varsity letters in soccer while playing at Bellevue High School. He was also a member of the Eastside FC 90 club team. He is entering his junior year at Northwest U.

In the 2011 season at NU, Young scored 2 goals and added three assists in 15 games played for the Eagles. He started in 8 games and had a .500 shots on goal percentage.
