TOWSON, Md. – Northwest University’s Luke Fischer of Kalispell, Mont., was named to the first team, District 8, CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) all-academic team for track & field as announced by the national office. This marks two consecutive years Fischer has been named to the first team. Luke now becomes a candidate for the Capital One Co-SIDA Academic All-America team, a national award. He has been a CoSIDA District 8 first team member in both soccer and track and field in the past and was voted to the 2012 Capital One CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American Team.

AFGHANISTAN - Former Eagle basketball player and NU grad Greg George sends greetings from FOB Salerno, Afghanistan and is shown in the photo with his NU Eagle flag he took with him when he deployed in April. Greg says he’s also flown the flag from an Apache and Blackhawk helicopter to display his NU heritage. Thanks for your service, Lt. George, and prayers for your safety while serving there.

MARION, Ind. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) is proud to announce the 2013 NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track and Field All-America Team. All-America honors are awarded to the top eight individuals in each event and all four runners in the top eight relay teams. These awards were given out at the 62nd Annual NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championships on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. The event was contested from May 23 – 25.

MARION, Ind. - Matt Porter completed his collegiate running career with an 11th place finish in the men’s 3000m steeplechase event in the NAIA National Outdoor Track & Field Championships today on the track at Indiana Wesleyan University. During his time at NU, Matt qualified for the NAIA nationals in both cross country and track.
