Northwest University earned recognition in two separate categories of U.S. News & World Report's recently released 2014 "Best Colleges" issue. In this highly influential ranking of American universities, Northwest placed #15 on the Best Regional Colleges (West) list and #6 among Best Value Schools.
The category of Best Regional Colleges includes institutions that focus on undergraduate education but grant fewer than half their degrees in liberal arts disciplines. The rankings base selection as a Best Value School on a college's academic quality—as indicated by its 2014 U.S. News Best Colleges ranking—and the 2012-2013 net cost of attendance for a student who receives the average level of need-based financial aid. Only colleges that are in the top half of their categories and above average academically are included.
“U.S. News and World Report has consistently ranked Northwest as a top undergraduate college in the West over the last decade. We always appreciate their recognition of the academic quality and financial affordability of our work. We are continuing to expand our offerings in graduate and adult learning online, on campus, and at extension sites in order to make our affordable, high quality programs available to a broader audience.”
