NU Hall of Fame Recap with Russell Wilson

NU Hall of Fame Recap with Russell Wilson

The Northwest University Hall of Fame evening was an amazing night. This annual event saw a record-setting 600 participants this year. The evening included: an incredible silent auction (including a classic silver Mercedes Benz convertible), introduction of the NU student athletes of the year, an inspiring story from the women’s soccer team, induction of Wes Davis, former NU basketball star, into the Eagle Hall of Fame, and special guest Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks. Russell Wilson impressed everyone and showed us why he is so highly regarded on and off the field.

The top 7 quotes from Russell Wilson:

  • “Nothing like Seattle fans. I wanted to play for the Seattle Seahawks.”
  • “I am always visualizing success.”
  • “My favorite moments of last season were beating Tom Brady, the field-shaking noise of beating the Packers, the Chicago Bears road win, and the Atlanta playoff game.”
  • “Live with a purpose, play with a purpose.”
  • “I have a big vision. I want to be great and change the world.”
  • “God has something in store for you. You just need to find out what it is.”
  • “Focusing on academics helped me become great at sports.”

The women’s soccer team shared an inspirational video telling the story of last year’s championship season. The 2012 campaign started out with a 1-7-1 preseason record, but after some team soul-searching they went on an impressive 8 game winning streak. This led to NU’s first-ever CCC women’s soccer championship.

The evening was truly a night of celebration and inspiration.
