Scholarship Reception Connects Students And Benefactors

Scholarship Reception Connects Students And Benefactors

The Northwest University Foundation hosted the annual Scholarship Reception on Friday, September 13, 2013 in the courtyard just outside the beautiful Donald Argue Health and Sciences Center. The Foundation hosts the event as an opportunity for scholarship recipients to meet with their benefactor(s).

Youth For Christ Scholarship

This year, the Youth for Christ Scholarship was featured and its benefactors were recognized for their deep commitment to investing in students every year. The scholarship, started by Chuck and Barbara Teel, has funded more than 30 recipients over the past 15 years.

Both current and past students shared about the scholarship and how it has benefited them, a true account of how investing in the life of college graduates can multiply years after graduation.

The Importance Of Scholarships

Alumni Trevor Hanson recalls the instrumental difference another scholarship made in his life:

“The Casper Raybuck Scholarship was an incredible blessing to receive during my time at Northwest and allowed me to pursue and graduate with my Children's Ministry degree. I am still pastoring at a church in Tacoma, WA, no longer doing children's ministry, but now in an associate role. Through Northwest and the generosity of this scholarship, I am where I am today, with a passion coupled with an education. Please pass along my gratitude to all the benefactors.”

A Lifetime Of Appreciation

Thank you to those who shared with us in this exciting event. We look forward to next year and honoring those who have made a lasting legacy in the lives of our students.

Scholarship Contributions

If you or your family would like to set up a scholarship, please contact the Development office by emailing Justin Kawabori or Dustin Shirley. We would love to talk to you about how you can make a difference in a student's life each year.
