School of Business and Management Hosts MBA Alumni Dinner

On Friday evening, September 20, 2013, over 50 Northwest University MBA alumni, current students, faculty and guests attended the annual MBA Alumni Dinner in the Donald H. Argue Health and Sciences Center on campus.

A Network of Community and MBA Program Highlights

The purpose of the dinner was to honor recent MBA graduates and allow alumni to reconnect with former cohort members and professors. Current MBA students appreciated the opportunity to meet alumni and network throughout the event.

MBA Alumni Board President Jane Vinokurov, along with board members Kevin Johnson, Dick Harrigill, Doug Corlett, and Eric Robbins and Alumni Director (and MBA graduate) Dustin Shirley presented gift bags to the most recent MBA graduates who were present: Haley King, Kimberly Hill, Tristan Running, Paul Faraca, and Marco Orellana.

Dean of the School of Business and Management Teresa Gillespie provided an update of highlights for the MBA program, including the launch of Northwest University's first online MBA cohort.

Guest Speaker Shares Entrepreneurial Insights

To round out the evening, Northwest University's Vice President for Advancement Jason Miles spoke about his experience as an entrepreneur. He discussed both the excitement and challenges of growing an online business that he and his wife Cinnamon started, which is called Liberty Jane Clothing.

Miles also shared about the importance of writing and how this can significantly set individuals apart as entrepreneurs. Two of his books, Pinterest Power and Instagram Power, were #1 "Hot New Releases" in Amazon's web-marketing category.
