Ethical leadership is a prominent focus at the School of Business and Management at Northwest University. Managers often face complex decisions. As a Christian university, we help students develop the integrity and competence necessary to make sound business decisions that are also good moral choices. Northwest University has distinct advantages from other schools. Our small size insures that you are an integral part of a learning community, not just a number. In each course, you will engage in experiential learning with your peers. You will be challenged to consider global perspectives. You will develop and refine a variety of relevant management and communication skills. You will learn to think critically about the complexities of leadership. You will become more competent in your ability to decide and take action. Finally, because we are a Christian institution, your learning opportunities will be centered in the context of a distinctive, ethically responsible worldview.
Northwest University MBA prepares students to be ethically responsible leaders in a global business environment. Students take 38 semester hours of courses and then complete a summary writing project of either a business research question or a business plan, for a total of 41 credits. Courses are generally offered one night per week from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. for seven weeks, plus one Saturday morning session. This allows students to focus on one course at a time. The strong core curriculum covers functional areas of business (marketing, finance, human resources, etc) as well as leadership soft skill development and corporate strategy analysis. Courses are taught in a cohort model in which students start and finish the program together with the same group. As most cohorts are 12 – 15 students, the cohort becomes a learning community as well as a trusted support network of friends.
