Master of Business Administration

A Northwest University MBA will help you develop the competence necessary to make sound business decisions and the integrity that is required for good moral choices. Convenience

We are just off the I-405 freeway in Kirkland, minutes away from Bellevue and Redmond. If you live or work on the eastside of Seattle, an MBA at Northwest University makes good use of your time. You can finish the 39 required credits in 23 months. You take one course at a time, one night per week for 7 weeks (There are occasional Saturday morning sessions).

Community

At Northwest University, you will start and finish the MBA program together with the same group of students. Your classroom becomes a learning community as well as a support network of trusted friends. Class starts at 6:00 pm. Most students eat dinner together before class or grab a bite during a break from our convenient on-campus dining hall or coffee house.

Prerequisites

Students without an undergraduate degree in business must demonstrate a basic understanding of economics, accounting, and finance. This requirement can be met by prior work experience or satisfactory completion of the online tutorials available from Northwest University. Tutorials can be completed prior to the second year of MBA coursework.

MBA Concentrations

You can also enhance the value of your MBA by focusing your studies on social entrepreneurship, international business or leadership. The concentration allows students to focus their electives and Applied Project in the indicated field without increasing the number of overall credits required for the degree.

MBA with a Concentration in Social Entrepreneurship

A "Social Entrepreneur" is an innovator who recognizes a social problem and uses entrepreneurial business principles to organize and manage a venture to create social change. With a Concentration in Social Entrepreneurship, you will learn to use business skills to solve social problems. Students may receive the MBA with a Concentration in Social Entrepreneurship by substituting two courses: Resource Development and Strategy for Social Impact Organizations.

MBA with a Concentration in Leadership

With a concentration in Leadership, you will develop skills in coaching others and enhancing your own strength as an organizational leader. Students may receive the MBA with a Concentration in Leadership by taking the elective course on coaching.

MBA with a Concentration in International Business

With a concentration in International Business, you will focus your studies on particular issues that are crucial to the success of global business ventures. Students may receive the MBA with a Concentration in International Business by selecting the following courses.
