Institutional Scholarships

Presidential & Dean's Scholarships

Available to: Incoming Freshman for Fall Semester.

Eligibility: Must achieve a High School GPA of 3.75, and score at least a 1840 on the SAT or score at least a 28 on the ACT. Once the GPA and one of the score criteria have been met, an individual portfolio must be submitted.

Amount: Up to three full tuition Presidential Scholarships and three half-tuition Dean’s Scholarships per year (maximum of eight semesters). Additional scholarships may be awarded.

Deadline: Individual portfolio must be postmarked by February 15.

Renewal: Must be enrolled for full-time study, maintain a 3.30 cumulative GPA at Northwest University (renewable with a 3.00 for the first semester only), and reside on-campus.

Restrictions: Presidential - may not receive with other Institutional Scholarships or Tuition Credits (Pastors, District Youth Director, Academic, Talent, Northwest University Success, Bible Quiz, or Debate). Deans - May not receive with the following Institutional Aid: Academic, Northwest University Success, Northwest University Tuition Credits.

Application: Applicant must submit an individual portfolio.

Portfolio Items:

  • Table of Contents
  • Personal page(s):
    • List desired major
    • Plans after college
    • Leadership goals at Northwest University
    • Extra curricular hobbies/involvements (sports, music, etc.)
    • Size of high school, public or private
    • Size of city, church, etc.
    • Please keep personal pictures to a minimum
  • A minimum of 2 letters of reference (max 4):
    • From high school
    • From church
    • From a community individual
  • A minimum of 2 examples each:
    • Leadership experience
    • Community involvement
    • Church involvement
    • School involvement
  • Examples of:
    • Academic achievement
    • Extra-curricular activities
    • Leadership potential

Please limit your material to high school years only!
