The ordinary $20 bill features a portrait of Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the U.S. (One of his achievements, by the way, was paying off the national debt.) This is a common bill - it's the one you get from an ATM. Yet it can be the tool that could turn you into a significant donor.

Becoming a Significant Donor - the $20 Gift

A $20 donation to Northwest is significant for three reasons:

1. It's an important gift in its own right.

If everyone who read this sent in $20, it would be a big boost to our efforts to prepare the Christian leaders of tomorrow!

2. It gets the ball rolling.

It activates the principle Jesus taught (in Luke 6:38): "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

As you bless Northwest, the Lord will bless you. As this cycle repeats, it becomes easier to give more often, and in greater amounts. You might even not realize, today, your potential to be a big giver tomorrow.

3. It demonstrates tangibly the support of our constituency.

Many charitable foundations require a high percentage of giving by alumni and friends before they will consider a gift to a college or university. Since their gifts are often in the million-dollar range, this is a very important factor.

In a very real sense, your gift, even if it's just twenty dollars, can help make it possible for us to receive their million dollar gift!

Please, take a moment to find out how to give to Northwest University. Then take a look in the mirror. That's what a significant donor looks like!
