LEAP: Leadership Education for Adult Professionals
B.A. Elementary Education and the Humanities
This degree is based upon the traditional Elementary Education degree and is designed to equip students with all the necessary competencies to pass the state certification tests, enter the MIT and receive endorsements in Elementary Education and/or Middle School Humanities.
- Provides pre-professional foundation in subject matter for elementary and middle level teaching
- Conforms to NU expectations for liberal studies
- Offers currently existing courses: titles, descriptions, and credit values
- Fits the Leadership Education for Adult Professionals (LEAP) format, following reconfiguration of selected courses
- Leads to admission to the Master in Teaching (MIT) program for professional preparation and licensure as a K-8 generalist and grade 4-9 humanities specialist
- Approved by the School of Education Faculty
