In my own sermon study and preparation recently, I have been reminded of the importance of the process... the significance of the journey.
That’s why I see, more and more, the benefit of structured and disciplined study into the various facets of theology, culture, ministry, and leadership that affect church leaders today. If it’s true that one person can sharpen another, as iron sharpens iron, then I want the opportunity to learn from – and with – those who are fully committed to serving today’s church to reach today’s world. That’s why I so highly regard these new Master’s Degrees from the College of Ministry at Northwest University. The faculty and leadership at Northwest University are committed to training today’s leaders, and I want to take advantage of that. I trust that they will lead us on a journey that will be rewarding in itself, as we grow in the image of Christ, and will take us to places of even greater effectiveness as we labor in the whitened harvest fields.

Chair One of the commitments I have made as a leader is to be a “life-long learner.” I am on the verge of completing the first phase of my post-graduate studies and will graduate with a master’s degree this spring. The learning journey has been life-changing, and I have been able to accomplish it in concert with others who have enhanced the experience and made it even more practical and valuable. I have found the classes to be relevant, challenging, and highly applicable to my daily ministry tasks. I do not hesitate to recommend this same journey for others! |
