Missional Leadership

 

The M.A. in Missional Leadership will provide you with a curriculum that develops a theoretical framework for understanding leadership, mission and culture, globalization, ethics, motivation, creativity, vision, strategic planning, teamwork, spirituality, and other leadership issues.

This program will emphasize the need for missional leaders to live out the gospel so that it is seen and experienced in community. The coursework will be followed by a culminating project during which you will conduct research or perform an organizational intervention that incorporates the course content from the program.

 

Degree Objectives

  • Develop a theological and theoretical framework for leadership, mission and culture;
  • Analyze and synthesize knowledge of missional leadership models, human development, and communication theories into effective systems of praxis;
  • Gain an understanding of Christianity as culture rather than a mere philosophy or a worldview;
  • Research current issues in missional leadership to provide practical solutions, and communicate results through clear, concise and appropriate media;
  • Reflect on what it means to be in authentic community and to examine the impact of mission in the community context;
  • Examine the spiritual dimensions of leadership that include inner-life realities, spiritual formation, soul care and spiritual direction;
  • Implement creative approaches designed to rebuild distinctive Christian community essential to face formidable challenges in our world today.

Schedule

This program takes 18 months to complete, with 12 courses scheduled over the duration of that period. Students are organized into cohort groups which meet together in week-long intensives.
