Northwest Recognized Among Best Colleges

August 31, 2004

"America’s Best Colleges 2005,” published by U.S. News & World Report, ranks Northwest University (Kirkland, Washington) among their “Top Schools” in the western region. “We were thrilled to see the quality of Northwest University affirmed in this well-known publication,” states Dr. Don Argue, President. “In years past, we have been honored even to be listed in the publication’s second tier since many colleges are not listed at all. To be recognized in this way affirms the significant steps forward we have made as an institution over these past several years. I’m proud of our students, alumni, faculty, staff, and board; recognition like this should be enjoyed by the entire Northwest University community.”

This is an exciting year of transition for Northwest University as the institution officially becomes Northwest University on January 1, 2005. As students begin classes this week, they are already seeing the new name around campus. “Northwest is growing in nearly every way. This change in name and status to Northwest University is just one more marker that demonstrates our continuing success,” remarked Argue.

Since 1934, Northwest University has successfully prepared students for service and leadership. Over 1,200 students study in over 50 academic programs including nursing, teacher education, business, psychology, biblical literature, and church ministries. Students are challenged, and then equipped, to “Carry the Call.” With their hearts… to develop compassion and character. With their heads… to discover the joy of rigorous study and mental discipline. And with their hands… to actively engage the world around them.
