Randy Barton, Honorary Seahawk

More than 20 years ago, Randy Barton was a leading architect in helping to construct the partnership between Northwest University and the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks. As a result, the Seahawks have made ten acres of the Northwest University campus their home for the past two decades. The Seahawks use the property as their practice facility and the headquarters for their football operations.

“The Seahawks provided this special jersey out of their appreciation for Randy’s work in orchestrating this outstanding partnership,” stated Dan Neary, Executive Vice President of Northwest University. “The jersey is significant in several ways. First, this is an authentic jersey, because Randy’s work is always accurate and genuine. Second, it’s a home jersey, because Randy’s efforts helped create a fabulous home for the Seahawks. Third, the name Barton is on the back, acknowledging his critical role as a member of the team. And finally, the number 86 commemorates the year, 1986, that the Seahawks made our campus their home.”

Barton is now the President and CEO of the Assemblies of God Financial Services Group (AGFSG). He is a recognized expert in matters that integrate areas of the church, finance, and law. AGFSG is a comprehensive organization of financial services that serve ministers, churches, schools, and other Christian organizations with tools ranging from retirement accounts to loans. Barton continues to serve Northwest as a Trustee for the Northwest University Foundation.

One of the special ancillary benefits for students at Northwest University is the privilege of using the Seahawks’ practice facility for their intramural women’s soccer and men’s football games each Saturday.
