Alum Natalie Grant Speaks on Human TraffickingWednesday, October 12, 2005, was a day that involved both triumph and tragedy for Northwest alum Natalie Grant.
The very day it was announced that she is the Number-One-Selling Female Vocalist in Christian Music, she was in the Northwest University chapel sharing her grief over the tragedy of human trafficking. This was not a concert – she sang only once, at the end the service. It was a time of ministry, during which she challenged students to make a difference. “The response was incredible,” stated Phil Rasmussen, Dean of the Chapel. “We have a goal of raising $10,000 to fight human trafficking,” he explained. “For this chapel, I prepared envelopes with different pledge amounts on them and put them on the communion table. At the end of the chapel, students claimed all the envelopes… and there were at least a hundred more students who wanted one. They’ll have the opportunity to respond in the next chapel.” For more information about Natalie’s foundation to fight human trafficking, click here. To visit the web site for her music, click here.
