Grant Wacker (BA, Stanford; PhD, Harvard) is Professor of Christian History at Duke University Divinity School. His publications include H. Strong and the Dilemma of Historical Consciousness (Mercer, 1985), Heaven Below: Early Pentecostals and American Culture (Harvard, 2001), and, with Jon Butler and Randall Balmer, Religion in American Life: A Short History (Oxford, 2002).

In 1995 he was president of the Society for Pentecostal Studies, and from 1997 to 2004 he served as a senior editor of the quarterly journal Church history: Studies in Christianity and Culture.

In 2008, Wacker is slated to become president of the American Society of Church History. He is working on a cultural biography of Billy Graham and the American Moment.
