On Thursday, March 21, 2013, Northwest University students and prominent business leaders in the local community took part in a Speed Networking Dessert!
This event gave both the students and over 20 community business leaders attending an opportunity to discuss their goals and aspirations as well as an opportunity for leaders share advice from their road to successful. Two of the more notable leaders attending were the Mayor of Kirkland: Joan McBride and Jeff Rogers, CEO of One Accord.
This event helped students learn how to network as well as make some very good contacts. Nearly 75 students participated in this beneficial meet-and-greet, and many students stayed after the event to enjoy dessert and continue conversations they were having with the professionals.
Director of Career Development Levi Davenport, M.S. helped organize the event, but gives the credit to God for how all the contacts came together. “It was an incredible group of people who participated and we are so grateful for their partnership on this event,” says Davenport.
