The general splendor colored the faces of an eager choir, and the orchestra stood waiting for the cue from the conductor. A silence fell upon the audience as the lights dimmed and the conductor lifted his hands to begin. At that moment, all hearts took a journey as the orchestra began playing their sweet song with the swift merriment of the violins, and the woody tones of the cellos and basses. The eyes of those listening became as bright as the brass players’ clear, joyful notes and ears were satisfied with graceful woodwind strains that floated over the top of the orchestra. The instruments hung in anticipation, and as the conductor lifted his hand again to cue, voices full of joy and warmth filled in every hollow space and sang a song of the Savior King.
