The New Year is a time that many people have designated to change their lifestyles. In the past, I have done the same and made resolution after resolution that is always abandoned after the end of January, or, if I’m really feeling ambitious, February.
This year, I did something different. I already knew that I wanted to eat healthier and be more active, and to lose weight so I can look my best for my wedding in June. So, instead of waiting for the New Year, I made a plan weeks before January first.
I read several books regarding nutrition and health, then made a 14-week plan for the things I can eat and what exercises to do.
This time, I can’t give up on my goal because I have specific steps to complete it. I also am accountable to my mom, because we are doing this plan together.
This time, I don’t only have motivation; I have a plan of action that is well thought-out and that I can complete in small steps.
Another thing that I’ve done differently this year is that I have prayed through my plans. I have confidence that my plans are anointed by God, and, through Him, I cannot fail. I am on the road to health and fitness, and this year is going to be the best yet!
