Class sizes are small, creating abundant opportunities for interaction between students and professors. Attitudes of stewardship and service are encouraged and combined with missions opportunities to assist under-developed countries. Topics studied include agriculture, water treatment, agro-forestry, and sustainable development. Graduates serve in mission fields and many natural fields of work around the Pacific Northwest. The programs are also designed to be solid preparation for graduate school. Students may also combine their studies in environmental sciences with other areas, such as law, education, or theology. Job Possibilities With An Environmental Science DegreeWith an environmental science degree, graduates may choose from a variety of careers in the sciences. Graduates have been selected by state and federal agencies such as the United States Forest Service, the Olympic National Park Service, and the Washington Department of Ecology. Others work for environmental consulting firms in the Pacific Northwest. Graduates have also conducted scientific missions in places like China, Guatemala, Mexico and Africa. One alumnus works as a professional mountaineering guide across the United States and around the world.
