Criminal incidents unfortunately do occur on college campuses. Most colleges and universities investigate and make public the nature and frequency of the crimes. Northwest University follows this practice and believes that providing this information to the college community, increases awareness and aids in the prevention of future occurrences.

Northwest University encourages victims of crimes to report the incident to the Department of Campus Security regardless of how insignificant the matter may appear. To report a crime, a victim or witness should contact (425) 889-5500, extensions 222, 5500, or (425) 864-1552. In addition, we recommend that all criminal activity be reported to local law enforcement. Campus Security Officers will assist victims and witnesses in reporting criminal activity to the Kirkland Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies, for investigation and follow up.

Northwest University places a high priority on your safety. The department is staffed by trained security personnel 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. The Campus Security Department consists of a Director of Safety and Security, two full time safety officers and several part time student employees. Safety officers currently retain a civilian status. Officers are trained in campus security protocol and emergency response matters; officers are first aid and CPR. certified. Criminal investigations occurring on campus, are conducted by local enforcement.
