Program informationThe Summer Scholars Academy at Northwest University is an opportunity for high-achieving high school students to challenge their minds, build new relationships, and deepen their Christian commitment.This is a week-long academy that provides an opportunity for high school students to take classes from Northwest University professors, experience the residence hall living environment, and make meaningful connections with other high school students in the context of a distinctly Christian environment. In addition, there will be opportunities to experience some of what Seattle has to offer. Program Dates: July 6-11, 2008
Typical Day at the Summer Scholars Academy
Outings will include a visit to the Kirkland Market and to the Experience Music Project at Seattle Center. CoursesEach student will choose an academic “major” and “minor” for the week. Students will attend the class for their major during the four hour class session in the morning, and then attend the class for their minor in the afternoon. Scholar CriteriaScholars must be entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in Fall 2008. Scholars need to be quality students who have met one of the following requirements:
Payment InformationThe costs include Room and Board for the duration of the Academy. The total costs for the Summer Scholars Academy are:
The application deposit is due at the time of application; the balance for the Academy is due June 27, 2008. A $50.00 Application Deposit is due at the time of application. If a scholar is accepted to the program, the Application Deposit will be applied to the tuition for the program. If for some reason a scholar is not accepted, the deposit will be refunded.
