I’m amazed daily by my two awesome kids and incredible wife.
Favorite Aspect of NU:
My background is in Student Development in Christian higher education and I’ve been a part of some pretty fantastic schools. But NU is second to none. For good reason, students gravitate here to participate in a genuine faith community that supports and challenges their growth. And strategically, students couldn't choose a better place to gain a competitive edge for the professional world. NU shares the street with companies that are shaping business, technology, and life around the globe, and our students are connected with these organizations in an incredible location. This is absolutely a place where you can reach your goals. Every day, I love watching students thrive in an environment that gives so many advantages.
On my bookshelf:
The Secret Power of Middle Children: How Middleborns can Harness Their Unexpected and Remarkable Abilities by Salmon and Schumann (I’m craving to read this one!), Let Your Life Speak by Parker Palmer, Incarnate Leadership by Bill Robinson, and The Making of a Leader by Robert Clifton. I’ve got a host of others, too.
Mexican, seafood, American, bubble tea. It’s all good.
Favorite place in Seattle:
The outdoors. Whether kayaking, skiing, biking, or hiking, this place is amazing.
Favorite coffee/non-coffee order:
A peppermint (winter) or raspberry (summer) hot chocolate or mocha cream frap. That’s the kind without coffee because I’m still behind the java curve.
Evergreens are great, but so are the ponderosa pines of central Oregon, which always bring to mind my favorite vacation spot. They are slightly red compared to other regions in the Northwest that have these same non-deciduous giants.
I’m a 12. I like the M’s too.
What you might not know about me:
I grew up nine miles from here, but I’ve travelled the world and lived across the country. Also I have a knack for helping people, especially young adults, conquer confusion about personal finance and investing.
