With a record of 9-2 in the Cascade Conference and 13-4 overall, the NU volleyball team swept Southern Oregon University, a team they had not defeated since 2005. Alan and I attended Northwest from 1993 to 1997. Alan was a part of the missions program and I (Michelle) graduated with a degree in Biblical literature. Two weeks after I graduated, we flew to Indonesia to serve a two-year term as missionary associates.
For the last academic year, Isaiah Whitten has attended the University of Oxford as part of a study abroad program facilitated by NU. Now, Whitten has been chosen for an internship at the Institute for Responsible Citizenship, which he will take part in over the course of the next two summers.

Kirkland, Wash. – Northwest University has announced that Phil Olson will be inducted into the 2016 Hall of Fame on Thursday, March 31, 2016. Olson was a cross country and track & field athlete at Northwest University from 1999 to 2003.
Northwest University (NU) students, Marlene Pierce and John Swayne, travelled to Thessaloniki, Greece, to take part in the 2016 World Universities Debating Championships (WUDC). By the end of the tournament, Pierce was awarded first place in the Public Speaking competition.
Northwest University has received a grant of $427,345 from Lilly Endowment Inc. to establish the new Summer Journey program with the support of the soon-to-be-formed Center for Calling and Theological Formation. On October 9, 2015, NU held its annual Alumni Chapel to honor past and present students and to introduce the 2015 Alumnus of the Year, John Quick.
