Eagle Fitness Days
October 10, 2018 @ 11:00am
Event Details:
The NU athletics department is excited to announce Eagle Health Fitness Days, a two-day event we are hosting in partnership with the Eagle Fitness Center on Tuesday, October 9 and Wednesday, October 10 from 11am to 3pm. We will be offering a range of health and wellness resources available in the fitness center for all students and employees of Northwest.
Our goal with this new event is to reach out to our students and employees to help break down the barrier that makes a lot of people feel uncomfortable in a fitness center, provide helpful information for all levels of fitness, and stress the benefits and importance of living a healthy life. This is an open event, so students and employees can come and go as busy schedules permit.
Amy Reuter (nutritionist) and Julia Fitts (nurse) from the wellness center will address self-care encompassing physical, nutritional, and mental health via a Checklist Activity with giveaways.
Dr. Stephanie Kerr and students from the exercise science program are offering:
- Health assessments including blood pressure, fitness heart rate zone, body composition, BMI, Hip to Waist ratio with suggestions for healthy lifestyle
- Basic fitness programs,
- And “Talk to a Trainer” sessions
We are very excited about this event and the opportunity for our community to grow and become more knowledgeable about health and fitness. We look forward to seeing you on October 9 and 10. Stop by!
