Each year dozens of students participate in trips designed to partner with missionary networks from around the world. Northwest University short-term missions trips seek to serve three purposes:
Serve God: As Christians, we are called to demonstrate compassion for those who are hurting, broken and in need. In Colossians 3:12, God calls us “to put on compassionate hearts”. We serve God through our obedience to Him.
Serve the Host: One of the greatest resources we possess as brothers and sisters in Christ to our host is an unrelenting heart to serve. While these hosts are doing amazing work in the spaces they occupy, often times it may come without a break. Serving from the simplest to the most complex of means is a way we can show love to one another.
Serve the People: We are called to serve one another humbly in love as stated in Galatians 5. As we feel the Spirit calling us into spaces and places around the world, we obediently listen to the call and take action. Through seeking Christ and loving each and every person we meet well, we naturally find ourselves serving the places of mission.
