Applying to College of Business Graduate Programs

Individuals who have earned a baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited college or university may apply to Northwest University’s Master of Business Administration program. A previous business degree is not required. The MBA program is open to all disciplines and fields of study. In order to be considered for admission, interested students must submit all required application materials and participate in an admissions interview with the MBA admissions committee. New students may be admitted to the program for Fall (September) and Spring (January) semesters.

Priority Application Deadlines

Fall Semester: August 1
Spring Semester: December 1

Application Requirements

The following application materials are required in order to be considered for admission to the Master of Business Administration program:​

  • Completed online application form
  • Application Fee: The graduate application fee is $30.
  • Current résumé or CV
  • Official college/university transcript(s)

    Transcripts should be sent to the below P.O. Box address or through a verified e-transcript service.

  • Academic history explanation essay (statement of purpose)*
  • Two (2) professional letters of recommendation*
  • Qualifying Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score*†

* Waived for students who have a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale

International and Overseas Students

In addition to the application items mentioned above, students who completed their degree(s) outside of the United States must provide a transcript equivalency evaluation. Please contact your enrollment counselor if you have questions about the evaluation requirement.

Students for whom English is a non-native language must provide proof of English proficiency, such as a qualifying score on the TOEFL, IELTS, or other standardized English language exam. Students who earned their baccalaureate or post baccalaureate degree(s) from a regionally accredited (or equivalent) college or university in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, or other country where English is the primary language may not be required to submit English proficiency test scores. Please contact your enrollment counselor for more information about the proof of English proficiency requirement.

F-1 International Student Requirements

Students who plan to study on an F-1 student visa must also provide the following application materials:

  • Copy of passport (biographical page only)
  • Current bank statement*

* Please contact your enrollment counselor for more information about the bank statement format and amount requirement; additional financial support documents may be required for students who are being sponsored by a US Citizen.

F-1 international transfer students may be required to submit additional documents in order to obtain an I-20 from Northwest University. Please contact your enrollment counselor for more details.

Students who hold other visa types but wish to convert to an F-1 student visa may be required to submit additional documents for change of status purposes. Please contact your enrollment counselor for more details.

International applicants are encouraged to complete their applications by July 1 if applying for a fall semester or by November 1 if applying for a spring semester. This ensures that the applicant has enough time to secure a student visa.
