Nursing Jobs Are In High Demand
Nurses are in high demand and the US Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates the job outlook for registered nurses to grow by as much as 15% between 2016 and 2026. The BSN offers students a broad base of scientific knowledge that is indispensable as well as a broad education in management and leadership; two skills sought after by employers. The critical thinking skills imparted by a BSN translate to improved patient care and safety.
Nurses with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing experience greater career mobility and flexibility. It also grants entry to master’s or doctoral nursing programs, leading to career advancement and career opportunities outside of the traditional nurse practice roles; BSN graduates are positioned for a range of specialized nursing jobs. In addition, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing points out that the unique value of BSN-prepared nurses is recognized by “nurse executives, federal agencies, military decision makers, leading nursing organizations, healthcare foundations, magnet hospitals and minority nurse advocate groups.”
