Background
Angela Felker MacCabe, PT, DPT, PhD graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from UHS/The Chicago Medical School (1987). She completed her Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy (2014) and Doctor of Philosophy in Health Science (2018) from the University of South Dakota (USD). Dr. MacCabe is a certified as an Advance Clinical Instructor of Physical Therapy and has been a clinical instructor since 1990. She has been professor teaching within entry level physical therapy education since 2014 and is certified in the hybrid learning teaching and learning model (2018).
Dr. MacCabe has a passion for interprofessional education, working with other educators to provide students with the opportunity to advance their knowledge and skills to enter the healthcare field with the understanding that true collaborative care is key to achieving the quadruple aim. Dr. MacCabe has four peer reviewed manuscripts and 25 national peer reviewed presentations.
Dr. MacCabe has 35 years of clinical expertise as a physical therapist in a wide variety of clinical settings working with complex diagnoses including orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association including specialty sections: education, acute care, health policy and administration, and neurology. Her research focus involves the scholarship of teaching and learning, faculty development, simulation, and interprofessional education; she has been awarded seven research grants. Dr. MacCabe serves as Associate Professor and Director of Curriculum and Assessment in the School of Physical Therapy at Northwest University. Additionally, she is associated faculty for Baylor and Hawaii Pacific University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
