Professor Lenae Nofziger has taught at Northwest University since 2000, specializing in Creative Writing and Children’s and Adolescent Literature. As a creative writer, she has had poems and essays published in a variety of venues. Currently she is working on a young adult novel and several picture book manuscripts.
Professor Nofziger has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Eastern Washington University. As an undergraduate, she studied Biology at Goshen College. She is an example of the benefits of a liberal arts curriculum which fosters habits of thought that can be applied in a variety of disciplines.
Professor Nofziger grew up in Oklahoma with frequent forays to Homer, Alaska, which she considers to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. She also lived in West Africa–in Nigeria as a young child and in Cote d’Ivoire for a semester in college.
Currently she resides in Kirkland with her husband Rex Rempel and their son Sam. She enjoys making muffins and reading while walking.
