Background

Shannon Fletcher joined the business faculty team at Northwest University as an associate professor in 2018. She specializes in teaching Business Communication, Organizational Behavior, Storytelling in Business, and Group and Organizational Dynamics. Her research focuses on soft skills and exploring behaviors that contribute to a thriving workplace. Her academic research has been featured in Business and Professional Communication Quarterly and the Transnational Journal of Business.

Previously, she taught for seven years at Sierra Nevada College located near Lake Tahoe, Nevada before meeting her husband and moving to the Seattle area. Shannon is also an entrepreneur and has owned three companies: Thriving Core Analytics, a company that delivers evidence-based measurement tools and solutions to help organizations thrive; All-Natural Nevada, a grass-fed meat distribution company; and a consulting company focused on executive coaching, project management and website redesign.

Her dissertation was titled Vulnerability in the Classroom: How Undergraduate Business Instructors’ Ability to Build Trust Impacts the Student’s Learning Experience.
