Adjunct Instructor of Data Science

Position Details

Position Summary

Design the curriculum and teach online courses for “Data Science I” and “Data Science II” as part of the MS in Data Analysis and Research Psychology program. These courses are offered online, and work can be completed remotely.

Essential Functions

1. Design the curriculum for the online courses including selecting textbooks and supplemental materials and creating assignments including grading rubrics.
2. Teach the online courses once per year; each course session is 8 weeks in length.
3. Establish regular communication with students when the course is active; including answering emails and scheduling virtual appointments or phone calls when requested.
4. Grade assignments in a timely manner and provide a final course grade for each student in keeping with University policies and practices.
5. Demonstrate compassion and care for each student, genuine humility, and professional decorum.

Qualifications

1. Holds an appropriate graduate degree from an accredited college or university; a doctorate degree is preferred.
2. Has professional experience and expertise in subject area.
3. Preferred experience in teaching at the college or university level or interest and willingness to learn the skills to become an excellent teacher.
4. Possesses a deep, personal commitment to Jesus Christ and to the Spirit-filled life.
5. Demonstrates a commitment to the integration of faith and learning.
6. Committed to establishing positive relationships with students, faculty, university staff, and the general constituency of the University.

Compensation

Dependent on education and experience, based on set compensation scale

Selected programs of study are approved by a Washington State Approving Agency for enrollment of those eligible for benefits under Title 38 and Title 10, U.S. Code and by Washington State for training in Vocational Rehabilitation.
