Position Summary

Responsible for registration activities for NU’s Kirkland Campus programs. Provides first-line registration student services in the Registrar’s Office, including internal and external communications with students, faculty, and staff.  Coordinates regularly scheduled registration projects. Monitors database data entry accuracy. This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position.

Essential Functions

  1. Monitor registration activities and other registration-related duties for all Kirkland Campus based academic programs, coordinate communication items.
    • Coordinate registration periods with department/program coordinators
    • Track registrations for: Study Abroad, Independent Study, and other special registration activities
    • Coordinate and maintain communication plan for registration activities
    • Monitor no-show attendance status and add/drop periods
  2. Assist Registrar with course creation and classroom assignment.
    • Gather and Input semester schedules in the database
    • Assist with classroom assignments and calendar meetings
  3. Monitor and maintain data-entry accuracy and integrity.
    • Maintain course information and prerequisites
    • Student registration and academic information
  4. Compile and submit NAIA Athletic Eligibility.
  5. Assist with maintenance and training of the student portal, Self-Service.
  6. Assist with special projects and perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills

  1.  Three years of secretarial/office experience desired
  2. Strong verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  3. Ability to read, write, and speak English well.
  4. Excellent attention to detail.
  5. Proficient with personal computer, office machines, and multi-extension telephone system.
  6. Ability to organize, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and use standard office tools including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  7. Knowledge of and ability to use databases desired.
  8. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment free of harassment, violence, and unlawful discrimination.
  9. Ability to communicate effectively, get along well with co-workers, and deal effectively and professionally with colleagues.

Working Environment:

  1. Work is generally performed indoors in a typical office setting. 
  2. Some weekend/evening work required. 
  3. Travel, including overnight travel, may be required.  
  4. Position works with strictly confidential information.
  5. Frequently required to be in front of a computer screen for long periods of time.
  6. May be exposed to loud noise levels.

Physical Demands:

The functions are usually performed while sitting, but may involve some amount of time standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting (max. of 40 lbs.), walking, carrying, reaching, stretching, climbing, perform repetitive motions of the hands or wrists and other movements.  The abilities of seeing, hearing and speaking are also required.
