Position Summary
As a collaborative member of an energetic, motivated, supportive, and responsive Admissions Team, Admissions Interns are front line representatives in Traditional Admissions. Admissions Interns professionally represent Northwest University through excellent customer service to prospective students, parents, and other key partners. This position includes many developmental opportunities by working one-on-one with an Admissions professional staff member.
Essential Functions
- Assist an Admissions professional staff member on daily tasks and projects as assigned.
- Engage as a member of a dynamic team serving prospective students through a variety of on-campus and off-campus events.
- Understand the overall Admissions process and provide timely support.
- Attend weekly team meetings and receive on-going training and coaching.
Roles
- Recruitment Interns:
- Assist the Admissions Counselors on their daily tasks and provide consistent communication with prospective students. This includes phone calls, text messages, and videos to move students through the admissions funnel.
- Attend at least 2 off-campus events like high school college fairs, church events, and Choralons concerts.
- Provide campus tours for prospective students for event days like Northwest Fridays and Individual Visits.
- Provide additional support for Admissions front desk coverage and sending mailings.
- Visit Intern:
- Assist the Visits and Events Coordinator by managing the visit process. This includes organizing the visit materials, providing campus tours, inputting visit data in the CRM, and leading campus events.
- Provide hospitality by managing the Admissions lobby and the visit room for prospective students and families.
- Ensure the admissions storage room and student worker room are organized and up-to-date materials are in supply.
- Provide additional support for Admissions front desk coverage and sending mailings.
- Operations Interns:
- Manage the Admissions mailing processes, including decision letters, Pursuit magazines, and on-going mailing projects.
- Delegate packaging of mailings to other Admissions Interns.
- Office tasks include account clean-up and inputting inquiries.
- Additional duties may include campus tours, communicating to prospective students, and off-campus recruitment events.
Additional Projects: Manage travel data, project mapping for future majors, Christian school account management, data insights, and admissions funnel auditing.
Education/Experience/Skills
- Must be a current student at Northwest University.
- Must have or develop basic knowledge of University programs, student life, admissions requirements, and financial aid availability.
- Previous experience in customer service and/or phone work is desirable.
- Must be detail-oriented, a team player, and maintain a positive attitude.
Physical Demands
The functions are usually performed while standing or sitting, but may involve some amount of time stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting (max. of 40 lbs.), walking, carrying, reaching, stretching, climbing, perform repetitive motions of the hands or wrists and other movements. The abilities of seeing, hearing and speaking are also required.
