Short Bio:
I'm a strong follower of Jesus, a theologian, a Lord of the Rings/C.S. Lewis nerd (especially Lewis's Christian thought), a drummer, a U.S. Navy veteran, a writer, a businessman, and a decent cook (jambalaya, biscuits and sausage gravy, and a good NY strip steak).
Favorite Aspect of NU:
I love that NU takes care of its students. They do a great job supporting people who need it. The professors are genuine and available to support students. Shout out to Dr. Todd "Brother" Nelson and Dr. Bamana Larsen! As a Navy veteran with a lot of life experiences, I've always felt accepted in this community.
On My Bookshelf:
I'll read almost anything. Right now I'm working through Arnold Schwarzenegger's Bodybuilding Encyclopedia, Gary Vaynerchuk's Crushing It, and Christopher Tolkien's Unfinished Tales of Númenor and Middle-earth.
Favorite Food:
I love a lot of things: Thai, Indian, Cajun/Southern, Mexican, Brazilian, and Chinese, in no particular order.
Favorite Place in Seattle:
There are so many, but Blue Owl Jeans is a great spot for selvedge jeans and button-ups. T-Mobile Park is always a good time. And Ballard is one of my favorite neighborhoods.
Favorite Coffee/Non-Coffee Order:
Two to three shots of espresso over ice with a couple packets of Splenda. On occasion, I'll also go for a Dr. Pepper or a sweet tea.
Favorite Tree:
Palm trees, Southern live oaks, and willows.
Favorite Sport:
I'm a Seahawks and Mariners fan through and through. I respect talent wherever I see it, even from teams I don't love watching (looking at you, Rams and 49ers).
What you might not know about me:
I have an AA in Theology, and I'm continuing to grow in my faith while I pursue my MBA. Lord willing, I hope to be ordained one day to serve in church ministry as fully as Jesus allows.
